We Walk on the Track
in Kirkland Washington
We look to and fro,
expect an attack
But no trains are on this run
Trickety track
Bite into a snack
enjoying the sun
We saunter along
While singing a song
We’re having too much fun.

If you live in our area, you know that the former Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks are not used for trains any more. The Port of Seattle now owns what is called the Eastside Rail Corridor. There have been plans underway to put it into public
ownership and create a trail for walking and bicycling on the right-of-way.
The budget cuts put those plans on hold, but my wife and I decided to use it for walking on right now. Hope you enjoyed our little exploration!

Holy Heck Phil you are posting up a storm of blog posts tonight. I see last month you posted over 100 and this month you look like you are going to beat that number even. That is a ton of posts.
Phil,
What beautiful scenery. Great time of year for a hike, too. Thanks for sharing.
Great for nature, but sad for the railroads that made America.
Hi Robert,
I don't have three beautiful kids at home to keep my busy...
Phil
Hi Dianne,
It really is beutiful here.
Thanks

Hi Jane,
I'm not a tree hugger, but our most amazing running/walking/biking/rollerblading track here used to be a railroad. It goes right by the Sammamish Slough, and all down the north end of Lake Washington.
Let the trains run in Chicago. We love our running trails!
